DEACONS
The
board of deacons provides a caring ministry for our church and
community. There are 21 Ordained Deacons on the Board. The monthly
meeting of the Board is at 9:30am on the first Wednesday of each month
except June, July and August.
The ministries the Deacons conduct are:
Preparation of the elements for the celebration of the Lord's Supper - Visiting the sick in the hospitals
- Visiting shut-ins in their homes and nursing homes
- Taking bananas monthly to nursing home residents
- Making phone calls and sending cards to those on our care list
- Providing assistance, including financial aid, to those in need in our church and our community
- Administration of a Dental Grants program for the area's school children
- Coordinating the monthly meal our church serves at the Belleville Christian Center
- Coordinating taking meals to members recently released from hospitals
- Making donations to local service organizations and charities
